In our Winter Workskhop, we’ll talk about how those new to the business can get started on the right foot, and how established studios can find new directions and fresh approaches to help increase sales while working smarter. You’ll come away with solid principles for setting your prices and inspiration to help build your own brand and style. Some topics we will cover include:

Style, Philosophy, and Inspiration

Feeling burned out, out of the loop, or behind the times? Or does your work look like everyone else’s in your area? Learn to look in new directions to find inspiration for your style, to help keep things fresh and updated while creating your own unique vision.

Pricing for Profit

For all those who have heard (or said) wow, I wish I could charge more, but that just won’t fly in my area, and for those who are frustrated and feeling like they’re working for next to nothing, just to live their dream. Learn where to start with pricing or how to re-evaluate what you currently charge, while helping to create perceived value, educating your clients on what you want them to spend, and encouraging your confidence in your price list.

Creating Your Brand

Ah, branding. It’s about more than just coming up with a slick logo. Learn how where you set your prices and how you present yourself to your client helps to distinguish your work from the rest of the pack.

Relationship and Web Marketing: Beyond Postcards and Yellow Page Ads

Want to know how to find and keep those ideal clients? You know, the ones who love your photography and are thrilled to pay you for it? Learn simple, effective, and inexpensive ways to promote your business and your style to your target client.

Simple Lighting and Posing

Good studio work doesn’t have to look stiff and unnatural. Learn techniques to help make your studio light work look more like natural light and how to create clean, well-lit and posed images without losing the spontaneous feeling that is so popular right now.
